Dear friends,
There are countless Scripture readings that share how we are to worship our God through music. One that comes to my mind is Ephesians 5:19, Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts.
Market Square has had a long reputation for a “top-notch” music program. This has come to be the case thanks to our many volunteers who dedicate countless hours for rehearsals, singing in worship, and more. All of our ensembles are made up of volunteers who love to sing and ring, and use their talents to worship and praise our God.
Music plays a vital role in the worship at Market Square. If you sing and/or ring, I want to encourage you to get involved. Do not let this opportunity pass by; God gave you a talent for a reason. If you do not sing or ring and would like to support our music ministry, please see me on ways to do so.
Grace and peace,
Tyler Canonico-Dilley
Minister of Music & Organist
MUSICAL ENSEMBLES
Market Square Ringers
This is our intermediate to advanced handbell choir. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Handbell Room, located on the fourth floor of the church. This choir rings in the 11:00 a.m. worship service at least once a month. Adults and high schoolers are welcome.
Sanctuary Choir
High schoolers and adults make up this choir. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. in Geneva Hall, located on the fourth floor of the church. This choir sings two anthems each week for the 11:00 a.m. worship service and sings for Holy Days and other special services and concerts that are often included in the Arts on the Square series.
Open Loft Choir
This choir is for any high schooler and adult who cannot commit to singing in the Sanctuary Choir weekly. These singers join with the Sanctuary Choir quarterly for the 11:00 a.m. worship service. An announcement about when this choir will sing next is always placed in the Sunday bulletin, in The Marketplace newsletter, and on our website. We gather at 10:00 a.m. the day we are to sing, learn the music, and then sing it during worship.
Market Square Singers
The Market Square Singers is a touring choir comprised of volunteers, both amateur and professional, from Market Square Church and the greater Central Pennsylvania community. The choir sings a variety of genres, including some of the best-loved works in the choral repertoire. In the past, the Market Square Singers have performed in Italy and Canada as well as in our own community.

We have several opportunities for instrumentalists to get involved. If you play an instrument, please contact Tyler, whose email address is below.
