“Jesus said, ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’”

—Matthew 25:35-36

Throughout the city of Harrisburg there are many vibrant ministries that work day in and day out to serve the underserved.   These ministries provide food for those who are hungry, shelter for those who are homeless or victims of abuse,  health services for those who cannot afford them, and tutoring and mentoring for children and youth.

Each day, in these ministries, lives are touched and changed.  Sometimes they are the lives of those who come to seek help.  Often the lives that are changed most are those of the volunteers who come to offer help.

As Christians we know that Jesus has commanded us to love our neighbor as ourselves.  But who is our neighbor?  And where can we find opportunities to get to know them?  At the ministry fair!

On Sunday, September 29, we invite you to gather in Geneva Hall following worship for a simple luncheon prepared with love, but using foods typically available in local food pantries.  We have invited representatives from local organizations/ministries throughout Harrisburg to join us. They will be stationed throughout Geneva Hall so that you can have an opportunity to learn about the ministry that they represent and the type of volunteer opportunities they have available.

It is our hope that you will prayerfully consider volunteering in one of these ministries.  We guarantee that your experience will change lives and be life-changing!
